Message from the President

Dear Well Wishers,

I joined The Save Life Foundation Charitable Trust as the President. Had someone told me a year ago that my journey in sewa, the toughest journey I would embark upon, would begin at the toughest time of my life, I would not believe them.

I believe that sometimes, when you're in a dark place, you feel like you've been buried, but actually, you've been planted. I will never know if I was capable. But I did know that it was my responsibility to try and even though, there is no education or theoretical lesson that can prepare one to take care of hundreds of family members, have hope.

We, as humans, have been given the power to turn mortuaries into flower beds but also flower beds into mortuaries. A parent that raises their children with love and care is abandoned on the roads by the same children, educated people who become mentally disabled become a liability to their loved ones, people on their death beds find themselves awaiting death alone on a hospital bed without their busy families.

When we rescue such people from the streets and give them a home in our shelters, it is not the cruelty that they have faced in their pasts that shocks me, but that they still continue to find a reason to live, grow, and rehabilitate. Despite having been exposed to the cruelty this world has to offer, they are grateful. I learn from their strength and blessings each day.
